A little about me...
The Real Me
Though I joke that I am a developer and web geek, those two things certainly don't define me. Technology aside, I love travel, culture, art, hiking, camping, reading, running (barefoot), and gardening. I live in San Diego and love the fun and sun, but also miss the quaintness, solitude, and (some of) the weather of the Northeast where I grew up. And though technology is not inherently simple, I do like simplicity, and am on a constant quest to try to simplify my life while minimizing my footprint and living as sustainably as possible. In my "spare time" I run a website, Idealist Cafe, which I call my "Lifestyle Project" and is where I write about all sorts of things, including travel, technology, adventure, health, sustainability, and other topics relating to inspired living and living life.
Geeky stuff & professional talk
I've been working in the tech industry since I graduated college. Since I started working I've had a bunch of mostly meaningless titles -- developer, programmer, software engineer, senior software engineer, dba -- and I've done a lot of different things -- application development, desktop apps, middle tier business logic, database development and management, web dev, and even some IT stuff and server configuration. I've also done all of this on both a professional and a personal level. So basically, I can write some serious code, can create and maintain databases, and I can build out and design websites (hopefully yours).
And now back to the task at hand
So you get the point, I've got many interests outside of the world of technology, but my major points of focus moving foward are development & design, consulting, and writing. If you need help with your website (or anything else tech related), you know how to contact me.
Thanks for checking in, and (check me over over here... )
